Alright now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, this Air Foamposite Pro features a glossy gym red on the foamposite upper with a reptile-like print on the lace eyestay and the heel. Subtle hits of black also appear on the outsole, carbon fiber, on the tongue and heel tabs as well as outlining the Swoosh by the toe. Gold aglets serve as the finishing touch, This Nike Air Foamposite is expected to arrive at Nike retailers in April so stay tuned to KoF to find out the official release date.

The Mid Is Back: Nike SB Dunk Mid – Black / Blue Force

Nike-SB-Dunk-Mid-Black-Blue-Force-White-2

The Nike SB Dunk Mid wasn’t working as many makeups and colorways as we had hoped to see toward the end of 2014, but the silhouette is staring 2015 off on a progressive foot, this time taking to a subtle and simple look for the Nike SB Dunk Mid. Suede goes into the construction this time around, which encases the sneaker in Black.

Blue Force pops up to electrify the look, hitting the toe box and the Nike “Swoosh”. The Nike SB branding is highlighted in White, which ties into the midsole. This installment to the Nike SB Dunk Mid family is an easy pick up if you’re just looking for something solid and reliable within the market. Are you feeling this SB Dunk? Patrick Stewart And Ian McKellen Will Not Appear In ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’

Sir Ian McKellen And Patrick Stewart Visit Foyles Bookshop

Best friends Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen won’t be in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, after all. Both returned to the roles of Professor Xavier and Magneto respectively in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past and performed alongside James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender’s younger X-Men: First Class counterparts.

Stewart broke the news on Larry King Now, explaining why he and McKellen wouldn’t fit into the story:

“I was learning quite a lot more about it last night and it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters,” Stewart told King. “And so I don’t think we’ll be making an appearance.” (Via Variety)

The decision makes perfect sense. X-Men: Days of Future Past was a time travel story and allowed Singer to put the 2000 X-Men cast alongside the cast from X-Men: First Class. No details have been revealed about the plot of Bryan Singer’s anticipated sequel, but time travel probably won’t be a factor. Oscar Isaac’s titular character, however, definitely will be.

NBC Says Super Bowl Ads Are ‘A Steal’ At $4.5 Million For 30 Seconds

kate

Mercedes-Benz

Got about $5 million burning a hole through your pocket and something you’d like to say to 100 million people? Better act fast. NBC revealed yesterday in a conference call that its 2015 Super Bowl advertising time is already 95% accounted for, even with the price tag coming in at a smooth $4.5 million per 30 seconds. But don’t worry, says NBC, you’ll get your money’s worth and then some. Why, they’re practically giving it away!

[Seth Winter, VP of Sales and Marketing for NBC Sports Group and NBCUniversal News Group] believes that the multi-million price is a bargain. The company’s internal research has shown that after adding in factors like pre- and post- Super Bowl ad online replay and the positive PR brands get from appearing on the Super Bowl, the commercials should be going for more than twice as much.

“($4.5 million) is a steal. We think the Super Bowl is worth closer to $10 million in incremental exposure for marketers,” Winter said to reporters. [AdWeek]

Hopefully, if there’s a God in heaven who loves us dearly, this will finally be the year some crazy old billionaire buys up like five full minutes of ad time (cost: $45 million) and just rants about traffic lights and baseball players from the 1940s and whatever the hell else careens into his brain. Not to advertise or promote anything, either. Just to get it off his chest. I think I would like that.

Elvis Songs You Probably Didn’t Realize Were Covers

Elvis: '68 Comeback Special

Getty Image

I am addicted to the Elvis song “Suspicious Minds.” It’s a song that I’ve listened to obsessively throughout my life. These periods of obsession come in waves and “Suspicious Minds” swung its way back into my music rotation a few months ago, becoming one of those songs I feel compelled to listen to five times in a row every morning, afternoon, and evening. The experience of hearing it is that satisfying.

It’s interesting to note that the original version of the song was performed by Mark James. Beyond “Suspicious Minds,” many iconic Elvis songs were not originally performed by The King and the originals are beautiful treasures that seldom receive the proper recognition they deserve. Many will be celebrating the 80th birthday of Elvis today — and why not? He’s The King. But so to should we celebrate the blues, country, and doo-wop legends that preceded and inspired him.

“Suspicious Minds”: Mark James

“Suspicious Minds” was a triumphant single — oft considered a comeback — for Elvis, that went to No. 1 in November 1969. The original, by Mark James, was recorded a year prior. In an interview with journalist Marc Myers, James said of writing the song, “I was married to my first wife then but still had feelings for my childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. My wife suspected I had those feelings, so it was a confusing time for me. I felt as though all three of us were all caught in this trap that we couldn’t walk out of.”

The song was covered by Elvis with not only the blessing of James, but his encouragement, “I knew Elvis needed a mature rock ‘n’ roll song to bring him back… I thought of ‘Suspicious Minds’ and I began urging everyone to get Elvis to hear it.”

“Blue Suede Shoes”: Carl Perkins

It was originally Johnny Cash who suggested to Carl Perkins to write a song based on something he overheard a soldier say to another soldier: “Don’t step on my blue suede shoes.” Perkins again overheard a man saying it to his dance partner. He wrote the lyrics on the back of a paper bag, recorded the song, and by its release in 1956 it was a hit. Perkins was considered both a better songwriter and musician in Rockabilly, but Elvis’s version sold more copies and “knocked Perkins out of the limelight.” [Source: All Things Considered]

“Hound Dog”: Willie “Big Mama” Thornton

Hound Dog was the longest running No. 1 hit for Elvis and a legendary song in his repertoire. But four years prior it was performed and recorded by blues singer Willie “Big Mama” Thornton and written by Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller (magical duo who also wrote “Yakety Yak,” “Stand By Me,” and “Love Potion No. 9?) and spent 14 weeks on Billboard’s R&B charts. “Are You Lonesome Tonight”: Charles Hart

Both the Elvis version and Al Jolson cover of “Are You Lonesome Tonight” have prevailed. But the first recording of the song was in 1927, by the performer Charles Hart, followed shortly by Vaughn DeLeath, who was a vocalist for The Colonial Club Orchestra. [Source: David Neale]

“Crying in the Chapel”: Darrell Glenn

Darrell Glenn recorded Crying in the Chapel in 1953. In 1960 Elvis sang his interpretation for his Gospel album His Hand in Mine. Prior to that the song had also been covered by Ella Fitzgerald and The Orioles, to name a couple.

Terry Richardson Shares Several Nicki Minaj Outtakes From Their ‘Rolling Stone’ Shoot

There are few feelings greater than logging into Tumblr’s dashboard and seeing that photographer Terry Richardson has updated his Diary. Sure, there are always those creepy stories about how weird his shoots can get but it’s hard not to get caught up in looking at the eye porn he creates with his camera. Richardson’s most recent uploads include images he shot of Nicki Minaj for Rolling Stone and…it’s not like Nicki needs much help looking hot. Terry just adds his signature sizzle to things by having her pose in a white tank top that looks like it’s hanging on for dear life plus another shot with her wearing black lingerie.

The White House Is Investigating How This Malia Obama Picture Got Online

malia

INSTAGRAM

President Obama is nothing if not the nation’s disapproving dad. But imagine having him as your actual dad, and one of your private photos made it online without his permission? Joey might be a Bada$$, but Barack’s gonna be a hardass on whoever got daughter Malia’s pic on Pro Era’s Instagram. And according to Fox News, the White House is launching a formal investigation.

The authenticity of the Instagram picture has not been verified, but the White House is reportedly looking into how the image landed on the Internet.

First lady Michelle Obama has kept her daughters out of the social media spotlight telling Barbara Walters in a 2013 interview that only Malia was able to use Facebook, while Sasha did not have social media access at all, which has many wondering how the photo surfaced or if it really is Malia. (Via)

A representative for Bada$$ said Pro Era received the photo from a “mutual friend.” Her name: Jenna B. Actually, that’s giving away too much information. She goes by J. Bush.

The authorities remain stumped.

Tiger Woods Is Selling His Swedish Island Estate And We Have Pictures

Tiger Woods island estate 1

Vladi Private Islands

Once upon a time, Tiger Woods was the best golfer in the world, was married to a beautiful Swedish model, and had a sprawling and private 62-acre island estate in Sweden complete with villa, hunting lodge, horse stables, and luxury yacht. Today he still has one of those things, but maybe not for long as he has recently put the island estate on the market.

The secluded villa, hunting lodge and stables are located on the main island and surrounded by a very large lawn. Here you can land your private prop airplane, play soccer, do some riding or enjoy unstructured golfing. 100 metres from the villa is the private, protected bay, and a 50 metres quay that provides plenty of space for your own, and your friends’ boats. This is the place to begin great fishing trips in your own private fishing waters, take a boat ride out to Mälaren’s over 1000 islands or the beautiful archipelago of Stockholm.

Here’s a bit of real estate porn for you if you’re into that whole “peace, tranquility, and heaven on earth” sort of thing.

Vladi Private Islands

Is this a three-story yacht or does the main floor just have really high ceilings? Regardless, when this is an actual question to be pondered, you know you’re doing something right.

Need a place to house your horses, because if so, this place has you covered.

A hunting cabin? Can any of you picture Tiger Woods in hunting gear? I can and it’s hilarious, but I still doubt it ever happened.

I’m a bit disappointed in the hot tub. I may also need to temper my expectations a bit.

Here’s what I imagine is a beautiful and sprawling room, but doesn’t it seem a bit light on the furnishings? I would seriously doubt Tiger visited this place more than a few times since he bought it.
