As you may very well know February marks the beginning of black history month. A great time of year for reflection and celebration of African-American tradition and achievement. And in more recent years, its been expected to see Nike drop a dope collection of footwear and apparel to commemorate this great time. This year is no different as today Nike Sportswear previews the BHM Collection in its entirety. Laced with some of their timeless sneaker silhouettes and newly crowned jewels like the destroyer jacket, this collection ushers in the shortest month of the year but clearly one of the most impactful with a few must have pieces.
To start, the sneaker collection will be one of much discussion as NSW opts to display a star-studded roster – The Air Max 1, Air Force One, the Blazer, and an old favorite redesigned, the Huarache Free 2012. Each is drapped in black/charcoal tones with hints of red, aqua, yellow, and green. Having already dropped Black History takes on the Nike Lebron, Zoom KD IV, and Zoom Kobe VII, this is an extremely strong footwear showing. NSW doesn’t slack in the apparel department either with a slick hooded destroyer jacket along with an aesthetically pleasing tee and snapback. Definitely nothing to frown upon.
