Here Are All The Fan-Made Kendrick Lamar-J. Cole Album Covers To Remind You Their Project May Release Next Month

Kendrick Lamar J Cole TSS

<!--pagetitle:-->

Unless they changed the date because little sister Kayla Lamar Duckworth spilled the beans, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole’s long-awaited joint album/tape/EP/whatever is scheduled for February 16th. And even if it’s not the 16th, we know new music is definitely coming next month because Cole promised things were going to get “scary” in February on his “Black Friday” remix of K.Dot’s “Airight.”

Since the release of both remixes late last year, fans have been putting their Photoshop skills to good use by creating fake album covers for the project allegedly titled Reminiscing. Most recently, a new version morphing Cole and Kendrick’s faces into one surfaced online. The cover art grabs inspiration from 25-year-old artist EJ Brown’s “Mugshot Series” as it portrays the modified rappers in a mug shot-style photo, holding up a sign that reads “Parental Advisory Explicit Content” while dressed in cap and gown.

Kevin Durant Gave His Christmas Sneakers to a Young Fan Who Beat Cancer

kevin

Here is another feel good story to put a smile on your face today.

This past Monday a young 5-year old Thunder fan by the name of Keaton Barron attended the OKC vs Sacramento Kings game thanks to his parents. Keaton recently completed his final round of chemotherapy, the last in a victorious battle against leukemia. It turns out that Keaton is a huge Kevin Durant (who isn’t right?) and he took a unique sign to the game. The sign read “Beat Cancer – Check”, “Plan Trip To Disney – Check”, and the final thing on the list was “Meet KD” but it had no check mark next to it.

Kevin Durant and the Thunder decided to do something about that and young Keaton got the opportunity to meet KD at halftime and he was even gifted the game-worn Nike KD 8 Christmas sneakers that Durant wore on Christmas Day against the Bulls. Hopefully Keaton grows tall enough to be able to wear those size 18s. Even if he doesn’t they’ll make for a great conversation piece in his house when he gets older. We salute you KD!

Beyoncé’s Confirmed To Steal The Spotlight From Coldplay At Super Bowl Halftime Show

coldplay-beyonce-hymn-for-the-weekend

We’ve known for a little while now that Coldplay will be the main musical act during the halftime of the upcoming Super Bowl 50. However, these days one big musical act is not enough to satisfy the audiences looking for a little entertainment whilst they eat their various snack foods and wait for the increasingly tedious commercials to commence. Take, for example, last year, when Katy Perry brought out Missy Elliott and those sharks that amused people on the internet for, like, a minute. This year’s Super Bowl shall be no different.

Since basically the moment Coldplay was announced as the halftime act, Beyoncé has been rumored to be joining them upon whatever garishly elaborate stage they are on. Well, according to Entertainment Tonight, it has now been confirmed that Beyoncé will indeed be joining Coldplay on stage. It’s a risky gamble for Coldplay because the presence of Beyoncé tends to overshadow everybody else, but she also appears on the song “Hymn for the Weekend” on Coldplay’s new album A Head Full of Dreams, so it makes sense for her to at least make a cameo.

Also joining Coldplay? Bruno Mars, who also played a recent halftime show. It’s a real cavalcade of stars for this year’s halftime show. There’s a little something for everybody… except the people who just want them to get back to the football.

Release Date: Nike Flyknit Air Force 1

Nike Flyknit Air Force 1 1

After countless leaks and early looks at this brand new version of the classic Nike Air Force 1, we finally have a release date.

The Nike Flyknit Air Force 1 is scheduled to arrive at retailers in at least two different colorways next month. The first colorway features a multicolor upper with Black leather detailing on the Swoosh, heel tab and tongue. Additional black accents cover the midsole, laces, flywire and outsole. Next we have a tonal pair that comes in all-white. Everything from the Flyknit to the leather detailing to the outsole on the shoe is white. The only touch of contrast comes on the tiny sections of the icy blue translucent outsole on the heel and toe.

Both pairs will be arriving at retailers on February 4th for $160. Will you be picking up one for the collection?

via: Nike

Author’s Take

It’s cool to see Flyknit on the Air Force 1 but the shoe is still gonna be uncomfortable. How about making the shoe more comfortable overall and not just on the upper?

Game Of Thrones Has Officially Announced A Premiere Date For Season Six

HBO

All right, all right, all right: It’s almost time for all the speculation, the nail-biting, and the jaw-clenching to be over. All those secrets you were hoping would be revealed with the new season of Game of Throne are coming. We can’t tell you who’s dead or alive (not even Obama knows for sure, okay?) but we can confirm that the show will premiere on April 24th. That’s because the official Twitter account for the show just put out this vaguely ominous tweet:

— Game Of Thrones (@GameOfThrones) January 7, 2016

Are you excited? Scared? Ready to share some more of those conspiracy theories? This season is based on a not-yet-finished novel, so for the first time, die-hard fans won’t be able to stay one step ahead of their friends in terms of twists and turns. The tension’s already too thick, isn’t it? Some of us just want to know who Arya’s going to off next.

NBA 2K16 Kicks: The “Almost There” Air Jordan 6 Maroon

NBA 2K16_20151201103252

December is starting out hot and fast with the release of the Air Jordan 6 Maroon and possibly a black version of the adidas Yeezy Boost 750. We don’t know about the Yeezy for sure, but with retailers already in possession of the shoes, it’s a safe bet sneakerheads who can spare $220 (yikes) will be copping them on Saturday.

In this edition of NBA 2K16 Kicks, we try to bring the Maroon 6 into the game and thanks to the sneakers’ simple color palette of off-white and uh, maroon, the results are some of the better ones we’ve had since we started doing this feature. It’s far from perfect; the obvious flaw is the lack of “Nike Air” branding on the heel and the heel tab not really looking all that right, but all things considered and especially compared to our sad attempt to get the Aqua 8 in the game, this is a pretty good representation of the upcoming retro release.

Check out the images below and make your own in-game version of these retros and don’t forget to check out the Air Jordan 6 Maroon launch page for more information as we get closer to release day.

Police Are Investigating A Cowboys Security Guard For Choking A Panthers Fan

Subscribe to UPROXX

Police in Arlington, Texas are reportedly looking into an incident between a security guard and a fan that occurred in AT&T Stadium during the Thanksgiving contest between Dallas and the Carolina Panthers, according to TMZ.

The video, recorded by other fans in the same section, shows a Panthers fan being restrained by security guards as he was being escorted out, while one guard put the fan in a headlock and took him to the ground while other onlookers tried to loosen his grip. The fan appeared to be passed out at one point before coming to and exchanging words with the guards as he was being brought out of the section of the stadium.

There’s not enough context to know exactly what was going on from the videos that have been released, but for his part, the fan, named John Small, has filed a police report, via TMZ.

The fan — John Small — filed a police report on Monday morning and now we’re told cops are actively investigating the situation as a possible Class A misdemeanor assault.

Small insists he did NOTHING WRONG and is asking other fans to come forward with video if they have it.

A YouTube video of the incident describes Small as being removed for “holding up a sign,” but the TMZ report indicates that security was called because Small was being “disruptive.”

Rumors Suggest That The iPhone 7 May Make Your Headphones Obsolete

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - SEPTEMBER 9: Apple Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller speaks on the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus during a Special Event at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium September 9, 2015 in San Francisco, California. Apple Inc. is expected to unveil latest iterations of its smart phone, forecasted to be the 6S and 6S Plus. The tech giant is also rumored to be planning to announce an update to its Apple TV set-top box. (Photo by Stephen Lam/ Getty Images)

Japanese blog Mac Otakara accurately predicted the changes Apple was going to make with the iPhone 6, and now they have even more to say about the iPhone 7.

In order to make the next iPhone even slimmer than previous models, Apple is supposedly getting rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack. That means in order to use a wired set of headphones or your old Earpods, you’ll have to get an adapter to plug them into the iPhone’s lightning port. (You would reportedly get all new lightning port Earpods with purchase, however.)

Being that this is still rumor, as no one knows anything for sure about the iPhone until Apple unveils it next year, you may not even get an adapter. You may have to buy an all new pair of Apple-approved headphones in order to use them with your new device. Last year, it was reported that companies like JBL and Philips developed lightning-cable headsets with Apple’s permission. Any pair of headphones that use the lightning port, which is digital, would have to have a digital-to-analog converter built in.

So, the upside here would be you’d potentially have clearer (digital) music — albeit through the more expensive, higher-end headphones. Headsets specifically developed to operate with Apple’s system could have the benefit of a design that works directly with apps like iTunes Radio.

Some downsides are that lightning-port headphones would draw power from the iPhone’s battery, especially if they’re the more expensive noise-cancelling sort (though they usually use their own batteries). It could possibly work the other way, with the headphones charging the phone with a passthrough or phone dock.

The removal of a standard headphone jack could make the iPhone 7 up to a millimeter slimmer than the iPhone 6. If that’s the sort of thing that appeals to you over better battery life and the ability to charge your phone while listening to music or making a call, then this rumor might be exciting to you. And of course if you have Bluetooth headphones, only having one port for everything may not be a big deal.

A Georgia Tech Recruit Decommitted After His Family Was Allegedly Harassed By Campus Police

The Georgia Tech football team lost a defensive struggle to in-state rival Georgia on Saturday, and an incident in the stands may have lost them a recruit, as well.

Jordan Johnson is the younger brother of Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Kaleb Johnson and a three-star recruit out of Jacksonville, Florida, and he had been committed to Tech for some time. On Sunday, he announced on Twitter that he was de-committing over a dispute with campus police involving tickets at the game.

Ive decided to decommit from Georgia Tech I had a bad experience at yesterdays game I would to say thank you to all of the faculty and staff

— KeltonJordanJohnson™ (@3rdJohnsonboy) November 29, 2015

According to Johnson, he went to the concession stand with his brother, and when he returned, he found his mother in an altercation with two campus police officers over the validity of her ticket. The school is calling the incident a “miscommunication,” and noted that Johnson’s mother was indeed sitting in the wrong seats.

The entire incident centers around the badges that recruits are given during their visits, which include their names in print. For guests, like Johnson’s mother and brother, the names are handwritten, and apparently this led the officer to believe the badges were forged. Johnson says they were eventually asked to leave the stadium.

While he has decommitted, it does seem that he’s leaving the door open for a possible return, saying, “Show me that you have acknowledged the problem and tried to put in the effort to fix it, and I will be satisfied.” On Twitter, he mentioned that he was weighing his options.

@jondavisfreeman just weighing my options again.

— KeltonJordanJohnson™ (@3rdJohnsonboy) November 29, 2015

He also tweeted that he still loves the school, but he would like the issue to be fixed.

I did and I still do, this problem needs to be solved though. https://t.co/0jb4Jp3UWC
